Hi,

Does anyone know what happened to www.board4all.biz?

Both forums and discord server was shutdown... :confused:

What happened to board4all? I also want to know this.

yah.. i am also worried.... the forum is currently offline.. i heard some rumors that some of the board head members got arrested by the police.. but not sure...

resource is back but what about top banner?

Forum has been online for quite some days but not able to access any resource at all. Reading the members getting arrested rumors is this another RaidForum scenario where police is just putting up a front to catch maybe more members?

one thing that makes me think is that some time ago I invited a borad4all member named wiffer (Borad4ALL) and strangely his name is not showing My invitation codes (now) and the Invited user field is entirely blank... and all my private messages are also gone...

I've been watching it daily hoping for an update, but still no news, which is a little worrying. It's a shame they didn't at least put out a tweet.

It's a very useful site and I would be sad to lose it.

Back when RaidForum got seized, FBI hosted a phishing page for multiple days and finally posted the seizure notice on the domain. Reason for doing that? I am assuming that the personal messaging data was encrypted and couldn't be read by just running queries, could be some other reason too.

What I said for B4A is just an assumption I hope they are just facing some server/database issue which will be resolved sooner or later.

With Board4all closed, i'm lost.

Any decent alternative?

Is this (https://cgpersia.com) the CGPersia that everyone is talking about? It appears to be a multimedia/3D/CAM/CAM Computer Graphics type of site rather than a general warez site... Or is it another site that everyone is referring to?

The site is not only warez.
The point system was very solid, BTW.

It was a reliable source for me, about everything related to Delphi for at least 10 years. The community was very constructive.

I was using it for JetBrains stuff lately... :(

Board4All Downtime Announcement

The admins of Board4all are not very transparent about the actual reasons.
On the 20th Of October, 2022 they put up an announcement notice. The body of that notice reads:

"Unfortunately, last week our server was compromised due to a loophole in the VNC, this was detected by the team quite quickly and the server brought offline. During the offline period we analysed the server files and logs, and later notified the host of this vulnerability so it does not happen to any of their other customers moving forward. We changed all passwords, obtained a new IP address (previously exposed by the MX / TXT domain records), changed access ports and pretty much changed everything that could have been obtained for the short time they had access.

I would like to add that there is nothing on the host vnc logs or server side logs to suggest any data loss but as with anything internet, you cannot guarantee 100% it did or it did not. However, if it has happened then it is a sad day for the team but as with everything, we move on and learn from it. However, what I will add is the actual person responsible spoke to me and informed me of how he got in so that the vunerability could be resolved - this has to be a positive thing and maybe nothing malicious was attempted while he connected and he was merely pointing this out.

Emails
As mentioned above, we previously used our own internal mail servers that sadly required us to expose the actual servers IP address in the domain record. Moving forward we will using a trusted external provider for any forum mailing. However, for a short period you will not receive any emails from the forum while we set this up.

Anyway, it is what it is, nothing we can do about it now since it has already happened.. we learn from it and move on."

I have also attached the screenshot of that notice to this post.

This notice was viewed by nearly all the active members of the forum before it was silently taken down a couple of days later.

So according to the Board4All forum staff, there was a VNC server running on the hosting server which had vulnerabilities. This means that effectively, if anyone exploited that VNC server, they would have remote access to that hosting server!

Everyone thought it strange that the notice was silently taken down and then the staff pretended that everything was fine. After that, the forum went down for another 21 days without any updates from the forum staff.

Subsequently the Board4All staff deleted even their Discord server silently.

All this is known and confirmed by the regular visitors to the Board4All forum.

Anyway it appears to be rather clear that there have been several significant compromises to the forum security, that the forum needed to be offline for over 21 days.

Prior to the 21 days, the forum was also offline TWICE or a week each time the month prior, for which the forum staff cited DDos attacks as the reason.

I find it very hard to believe that no one from Board4All management is here on Exetools. They should atleast give some sort of update, silently deleting discord and keeping forum down for soo long is not a good look for them. TeamIRA is throwing all the mud they can on B4A and people might just start to believe them. Should people start looking for knockoff forums to share and find resources?

One thing is clear so far. The Board4All staff have admitted that they do have some serious security crisis that they are dealing with, taking them weeks to sort out, and needing them to restore the forum from a 2 month old database every time they bring the site up...

Silently deleting their Discord server without any explanation whatsoever is indeed making them look mighty fishy and I agree, not making their words even remotely believable! :o :(
Deleting the Discord server was totally unneeded!

AFAIK, TIRA has closed down registration and is not taking in new members since the past several months. B4A as we all know has been down for a while.
B4A staff were never one to be known for transparency, deleting and banning accounts if anyone dared speak against them, or questioned their administration, even inside their own forum. So I am not surprised that they deleted their Discord server silently.
After all, the fact that most users need to create fake nicks here on Exetools which do not correspond to their real ones at B4A just to comment on B4A honestly, or ask honest questions about Board4All says volumes about how much they fear the B4A admins to voice out their honest opinions without fear of getting their accounts at B4A banned!

If my estimation is right, Board4All admins should turn the forum back on online for a day or two again within the next 2-3 days, to keep up the user interest, before taking it offline again... Let's see. :D
