If you can visit it by the IP addresss then it is most likely a problem with your ISP's DNS. A DNS resolves the written URL into an IP address. It should eventually work itself out. Is your friend on the same ISP as you?

No, hes on a different isp.
I hope the dns issue is resolved soon, but if it isn't im just going to edit my hosts file

Viasek: Right... The fact that your friend is on a different ISP supports gabri3l's idea that the problem lies with your ISP's DNS servers.
Unfortunately, I've been having the same problem, both from home and from work, which are on different ISPs...
