You should only remove those Windows components that are not needed by the apps. that you are using. And before doing any serious changes to your computer you must take a backup or make a System Restore Point so that you can go back to a safe/good state.

Since you have already damaged your setup you have the following options:

1) Do an inplace upgrade, see the attached html (zipped) help file.(Easy)

2) Use XPlite (h**p://www.litepc.com/xplite.html) to repair your setup, it can reinstall HTML rendering engine also. You have to buy it or find it on emule.(Buy or Download, Easy)

3) Do a full format and re-install.(Very Painful)

Hope that helps, I have done the inplace upgrade many times without problems.
