Hello Friends!

Glad I was able to be invited in here. I‘m 43, Name is Eric. My interest for reverse engineering stems back from the first Shareware CDs appearing and younger me trying to break these protections.

Nowadays I‘m mostly interested in MS-DOS Stuff, where I‘m building up a Collection of Patches/Cracks for games that have never been (properly) cracked in the past or where the Crack is hard to come by. I‘m still learning a lot. Goal is to preserve as much MS-DOS Games as possible in an unprotected state. I‘m also building up a website for these patches together with a friend of mine, but I won‘t post it here as advertisment is prolly not allowed.

Thank you

Eric

Introduction StormSeeker

Nice to meet you all and thanks for having accepted me in this community :-)
I'm a teacher and I'm interested in learning some techniques for reversing flexlm licensing software for Cisco old software.

By the way, do you know how I could be able to post a request?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hey!

Thanks for your answer. I wanted to differentiate the project from Abandonware Sites and only share xDelta diff patches for the corresponding games in an attempt to stay legal yet useful. This means you need to „own“ the game and only download and apply the patch. By using Batch Files and xDelta I also want the patches to stay as transparent as possible for the user. You can always check the .bat file to see what it does - no Self Extracting EXE is being used.

All Patches are on Archive here: https://archive.org/details/@xmarksthespot81

If you want to take a glimpse at the upcoming website, check: https://www.dosgame.at

The Website is not finished (most Sitelinks don‘t work yet and not all Patches are uploaded as we speak). Design is not final, but I want to keep it simple.

Which tools do I use: At the moment I use the DOSBox Debugger and Hiew for the most part, sometimes in conjunction with Gametools. For Sierra I use SCI Companion. A friend of mine is building a real DOS PC though for SICE, as some targets are too heavy for an emulated environment.

Keep in mind that I‘m still a Reversing Newbie and still learning a lot.

Let me know what you think.

- stoney

Hi friends :)

I am so happy to be invited by a good friend of mine

I'm an ex-reverser from another forums. I used to have some good friends who taught me a lot about reverse engineer. Although some of them are gone now. I wish them all the best

Now I really hope to be accepted here, and maybe also become friends with all of you

Sorry for my bad English

Welcome on board @sercan. Don't forget to stick on the forum rules and use the thanks button instead of posting a single "ty" message. Enjoy.

Hello,
I am Nick from Germany and I study software engineering. One of my hobbies is reverse engineering but I want to learn to reverse protected programs. I also want to learn some basics I might have missed out.

P.S. Thx for this great forum!
